Pear Santa Maria

Santa Maria is an Italian variety created from a cross between Wiliams and Coscia pear varieties by the famous breeder A. Moretinni in 1951. It ripens approximately 8 days before Williams pear. This is a very juicy summer variety characterized by high productivity and early fruiting. Its occasional slight red blush comes from sun exposure.

PROFILE:

  • Medium to large fruit size (od 150 g – 200 g – 250 g).
  • Pear shaped with a nice light yellow color, medium-thick skin and little green yellow lenticels
  • It has an aromatic taste, slightly sweet and not particularly sour fruit.
  • Creamy white flesh, soluble and with a fine compact texture

BEST TO USE:

  • Eating fresh and salads
